He’s better than Judge, is the fastest player in MLB history to hit 21 home runs, has hit 10 home runs in the last 10 games, and you probably have never even heard of him. The most impressive thing is, he’s only 21. Meet Cody Bellinger, the future of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bellinger has jumped on the scene hitting a staggering 22 HR so far in his rookie season. I remember my first impression of him, it was against my beloved Phillies and in the bottom of the 9th, with the Phillies up 3 runs, the Dodgers hit back to back to back HR and eventually went on to win the game. One of the HR came from Bellinger. He had just been called up so it was one of his early HRs, but I just remember how smooth his swing was and knew he was going to be a major problem for pitchers. Bellinger is batting .270 along with an impressive 49 ribbies and an astonishing 22 HRs. He also has a 1.001 OPS and has a cannon of an arm, with 7 outfield assists on the year. The reason why I think he is better than Judge is because Dodger Stadium is not even close to a hitters ballpark as Yankees Stadium is the most hitter friendly ball park in the bigs. The Dodgers only hit a combined 189 homers this year and a good chunk of them were on the road. Bellinger is belting homers like it is a second nature to him. The ceiling is high for this kid and I am excited to see how the rest of the season plays out for the up and coming phenom.
