College football is right around the corner and the best conference in the nation is gearing up for another tremendous season. Media day recently took place and all the coaches and players gathered around to answer various questions. Ringware was shown as Penn State showed off their new big ten championship rings. In the group picture all the coaches were dressed in their best suits except for none other than coach Jim Harbaugh. He showed up in a navy blue shirt and his famous khakis. Such a Harbaugh move. If any other coach tried to do that he would get absolutely scolded. His excuse for being underdressed was that he “packed lightly.”

A notable story going into this year’s big ten season is the performance of new coach PJ fleck. Mr. “Row the Boat” is coming to the big stage after last season when he led his Western Michigan Broncos to a BCS bowl game. I am a huge PJ Fleck fan. I like everything he represents and stands for and the fire and passion in his eyes is one every coach should have. Another notable story is to see if the Penn State Nittany Lions can repeat as big ten champs. As a huge Penn State fan, I can not say much as it will be perceived as bias, but with the return of Trace McSorely and Saquon Barkley, it is hard to say they can’t repeat as champs. Urban Meyer is one of the best coaches in college football. Last year, Ohio State’s season did not end as they wanted it to as they were blown out in the CFP semi-final to eventual national champion, Clemson. This year they will look to be another powerhouse but will be tested early, as they travel to Indiana week one. The Indiana faithful will sure to have the place rocking and it will not be an easy environment to succeed in. Finally. It will be interested to see how good Michigan is this year. They are loaded with talent again and their defense will be one of the best in the country. If they can stay healthy, they definitely have the talent to win the Big Ten championship. I just can’t wait for this season to get underway. Football is back baby!
