Well I don’t know how I feel right now. I don’t know if I’m shocked, disappointed, mad, upset but I do know one thing, I do not get to root for my home country in this summers World Cup and that just freaking sucks. The next few days are going to be composed of me listening to sad Coldplay songs and letting the realization hit that America did not qualify for the World Cup. I still can’t believe it, like even typing it out is almost surreal. I’m dreaming right? During my lifetime, the U.S. mens national team has qualified for every single World Cup during my existence and have given me a countless amount of memories. Whether it was Landon Donovan scoring a comeback winner against Algeria in 2010 or John Brooks banging a game winning header against Ghana in 2014, this team is anything but boring. The Question comes up, is this World Cup even going to be worth watching anymore? I would consider myself a mid tear soccer fan and I do watch a good amount of games outside of the WC, but like without our boys in the RWB who cares man! Yea it will be fun to see the best players in the world like Messi and Ronaldo compete but it is just not going to be the same. The United States had a game last night against Trinidad and Tobago and going into they game, they had a 94 percent chance to qualify. A lot had to go wrong for them not to qualify and boy did it. America came out extremely flat and found themselves in a 2-0 hole. They were still okay though because Costa Rica was beating Panama which is what we needed to happen. Well as the clock struck 10, America lost 2-1 and Panama scored a late goal just 20 minutes later to beat Costa Rica 2-1. The Math was then simple, Panama clinched their first ever World Cup appearance which meant the United States of America would not be participating in this summers WC. It gets worse every time I say it man, I am going to have a hard time sleeping these next few nights and honestly am just at a loss for words right now. I’m gonna leave you guys with a collection of pictures that will feature some of my favorite moments as an U.S. soccer fan. Oh and don’t worry were coming for you Qatar and we will be stronger than ever.
